Product Description

This ceramic spoon rest is hand-crafted in small batches at House of Chimes, Organ, New Mexico, so is truly made in USA.  If you’re looking to purchase a functional spoon rest that is also uniquely southwestern and stylish, you can find a variety of designs here.  Their decals include chili’s and chile ristras, cats, hummingbirds, roadrunners, frogs, wolves, cowboys, angels.  Some spoon rests have 'Truth or Consequences' or 'New Mexico' written on them; if there is a line on the spoon rest that will be in (parenthesis) after the decal design.  The end is gently curved to rest nicely on the counter and they are dishwasher safe, making them very functional spoon rests.  Each has a hole in the top, so if you want to put some cord through it and hang it on the wall, it will make a nice addition to your kitchen decor.  Thanks for supporting American-owned small businesses!  Here is what House of Chimes has to say about themselves and their process:

Here at the House of Chimes, we have are proud to present some of the most famous images of the southwest, those in the greatest demand by those who appreciate the beauty and unique culture of America's desert southwest.  ALL our products are 100% hand-made right here in New Mexico, USA in our very own shop! Unfortunately,  due to the cost involved, we are unable to do individual retail sales at this time.

Our products are designed to stand up to the rigors of harsh desert exposure. We make our own clay, we pour our own molds. Each piece must dry for at least 24 hours, is then cleaned by hand and fired for the first time. They are then glazed, by hand, and fired again. Any special decals are then applied and the item is fired for a third time. Only then is the item complete and is ready for final assembly and shipping.  Each firing takes 6 hours of baking time and 18 hours of cooling time, so you can see that each individual piece take about 4 days to complete.

Our Wind Chimes have been 70 mile per hour winds, snow, rain and just about any other weather condition you can think of. You can put them in your dishwasher to clean them or just soap and water in the sink. Don't use the DRY cycle on the dishwasher, though, it might shorten the life of the cord."
