Kachina Drummer on Stone Base
Each of these one of a kind kachina drummers is handcrafted and handpainted by Mary Miller of Whispering Prairies Ceramics in Truth or Consequences, NM, USA. This kachina is 4" by 4" in size and can be displayed facing any direction.
Miller has been a ceramicist since 1994 and is completely self-taught. "My work isn't done in traditional ways and techniques," said Miller. The artist strives to maintain her own individualism in creating her ceramics. This affords a "visual signature"- while viewing her work, one recognizes the artist even before seeing the signature. She owns the molds and hand-pours each piece, firing in her own kiln, and meticulously hand painting each ceramic piece individually so no two are exactly alike. Each kachina drummer will have a small pot at his feet and be secured to a stone base. Each will be finished in the traditional earth-tones used by Native Americans in their work and hand-signed by the artisan. You will also receive an info card on Mary Miller and Whispering Prairies Ceramics.
Although she pours these regularly to keep up with demand, each should be considered a custom order and extra time allowed before shipping (3 days to 2 weeks; we will email or phone you if shipping date is estimated to be more than 5 days from date of order).
We know you or your gift recipient will enjoy this small example of true Southwestern Art hand-signed by the artisan.
